Toure's resurgence is bad news for Stevan Jovetic

  • Toure's resurgence is bad news for Stevan Jovetic

The Montenegrin has found it difficult to make an impact under Manuel Pellegrini since his arrival in 2013, and with Toure finally pushed up behind Aguero there's even less chance of the forward becoming a regular.

With the arrival of £30m Wilfried Bony, Jovetic is back to being the 4th choice striker and at his age heíll want to be playing a lot more football. On top of this his omittance from Cityís CL squad after the arrival of Bony in January shows his supposed lack of importance to the manager. The striker said the decision "killed him" and after only making 39 appearances in all competitions he is rightly linked with a move away from the Etihad.

Jovetic has shown glimpses of his worth when heís had a run in the side, but his consistent injury problems ensured he didnít make the impression he wanted. For a 25 year old to be relying on injuries to one or two players to get on the field is not what he had pictured when making the £22m move to the North West.
