The Stamford Bridge crowd stood as one before Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League match against Dynamo Kiev to heap their support behind under pressure manager Jose Mourinho. Mourinho was clearly emotional by this show of support.
While Chelsea has been struggling all this season, it has been clear that one individual has not been. That man is Willian. The Brazilian has been simply outstanding this season, singlehandedly winning games for the Blues to keep some sort of respect for the clubs poor performances. This was again the case against Dynamo Kiev.
The Brazilian set up the first goal, which forced Aleksander Dragovic to send the ball into his own net, before scoring yet another stunning free kick to secure the three points for the Blues.
This victory sees Chelsea move into second place in the group behind Porto, with two games still to play. This victory was crucial as it lifted Chelsea above Dynamo Kiev.
Jose Mourinho was quoted in saying that he believes the Blues can still top the group despite being three points off the top.
Eden Hazard was once again dropped to the bench along with Gary Cahill.
