A disappointing 0-0 draw for Manchester United as they encountered West Ham United at Old Trafford. The Red Devils, with a host of injuries, struggled to break down the Hammers and was lucky to not concede at times.

It was the sixth goalless draw for United this season.

Here are the Manchester United player ratings:

You might also like

David De Gea: 7 - Made a great save one-on-one with Moses to keep it 0-0 early in the match. However, he spilled a cross later on and almost cost United. Aside from that one error he played well.

Paddy McNair: 5 - A poor performance from McNair playing in the right-back position. Misplaced passes, struggled to control the ball and failed to provide any consistent attacking threat. Was substituted at half-time. Not a good game.

Chris Smalling: 7.5 - United's best defender by a long way. Dominated Carroll aerially in the first-half and kept him facing toward his own goal in the second. Another calm and composed performance from the fill-in captain.

Daley Blind: 6 - A steady performance but not one of his best. Was guilty of giving the ball away cheaply in the first-half but was much better in the second with his long, raking passes nearly creating a handful of goals.

Matteo Darmian: 5.5 - Defended alright at times and did improve as the match went on in an attacking sense. As a natural right-back he played out of position and this showed with his weak left-foot crossing. Did put in one or two decent crosses late in the match but the majority were poor.

Morgan Schneiderlin: 6.5 - Was arguably United's best player before he was substituted off with injury in the first-half. Broke up play regularly, winning the ball back through tackles and interceptions. He kept the midfield ticking over and United will rue his absence as he provides mobility in that position.

Bastian Schweinsteiger: 6- An average performance. Kept play ticking over with his passing and got forward when possible. Didn't manage to be the influential figure United needed him to be.

Juan Mata: 5.5 - A harsh mark, moreso because of the high expectations on him. Needed to take the responsibility as the key-man in attack but failed to do so. Showed some neat touches and passes but his performance was relatively impotent.

Marouane Fellaini: 6 - Couldn't force a good second-half chance over the line. Was a nuisance all match though and was probably one of United's better players. An encouraging performance and better than what Wayne Rooney has given lately.

Jesse Lingard: 6 - A good return from injury. Showed liveliness on the ball and a willing to take risks and create. Couldn't find that vital piece of quality in the final third but was one of United's best.

Anthony Martial: 6.5 - A quite first-half where he was crowded out by the West Ham defence. Got on the ball a lot in the second though and was a constant threat. Unfortunately a late chance of his whistled past the post.

Substitutes:

Varela: 6 - A solid debut for the youngster. Replaced McNair at right-back and did well.

Carrick: 5.5 - Showed some glimpses of quality passing in-between-the-lines but was, overall, ineffective.

Depay: 6.5 - Only a brief cameo but it was an encouraging one. Worked hard off the ball to create space and showed some good touches in possession.
