The form slump continues for Manchester United. The 2-1 loss to Bournemouth leaves the Red Devils sitting in 4th place with other matches to play this round.

A host of injuries meant United was forced to field an inexperienced team against the Cherries. Despite Marouane Fellaini making it 1-1 after Junior Stanislas' opener, formed United player Josh King scored the winner in the second-half.

You might also like

David de Gea: 6 - Bad positioning for the Stanislas corner meant he saw the ball go over his head and in at the back-post. Did go some way to making amends with a few good saves after that, but not a very good game for the Spaniard.

Guillermo Varela: 5 - Was targeted by the Cherries and struggled to deal with the constant pressure. Offered little going forward and was, at times, lost defensively.

Paddy McNair: 4 - Struggled. Lost the ball on numerous occasions and could not contain King or Glenn Murray.

Daley Blind: 4 - Similar to McNair. Was guilty of gifting possession away and his slack marking at set-pieces cost the team. As the senior figure he needed to be better. Extremely poor.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson: 5 - The best of a bad bunch. Surprisingly Bournemouth did not target the young left-back. Was beaten too easily quite often in the second-half, but his first-half performance was decent.

Michael Carrick: 6 -  One of United's best players. Showed his excellent passing range during the first-half, with some lovely balls to the left wing. Faded a little as the match went on but he battled hard in a poor team.

Marouane Fellaini: 6.5 - Scored United's only goal and was arguably their best player. Was a little sloppy at times but he scrapped and fought for every ball. Was substituted.

Jesse Lingard: 5.5 - Was taken off in the first-half after suffering a hamstring injury. Had started the game well and worked hard both offensively and defensively.

Juan Mata: 4 - Was virtually anonymous for the entire game. Playing in his favoured #10 role the Spaniard strolled around the pitch as the game passed him by. Should be the star man in the line-up but is failing to deliver.

Memphis Depay: 5 - Was one of the Red Devils' better players in the first-half. Was positive with his movement and looked to get the ball forward. Received a knock in the second and disappeared after that.

Anthony Martial: 4 - Inconsistent performance from Martial. Showed some good touches and dribbling skill but blew two good chances to score. Should not be relied upon so heavily at 20 years of age but with the injury situation there is no other option.

Substitutes:

Andreas Pereira: 4.5 - Made a wild challenge which, luckily for him, didn't connect with the Bournemouth player. Struggled to impose himself on the game aside from that and showed rustiness by losing possession.

Nick Powell: N/A - Did not do enough to receive a rating after coming on for Fellaini.

Phil Jones: N/A - Replaced McNair but was only on the pitch for a few minutes.
