Gareth Barry stands alone in the Premier League record book. Seriously.
By virtue of winning a place in Everton's lineup for Wednesday's contest against Sunderland, the 35-year-old midfielder set a new record with his 572nd career start in England's top flight.
Barry equaled the mark set by well-traveled goalkeeper David James earlier this season, and eclipsed it at the Stadium of Light.
The central midfielder made his Premier League debut as a 17-year-old with Aston Villa in 1997-98, and spent time at Manchester City before making the switch to the Toffees.
